About Taylor

Age:

Home: Marlow

Golf Club: Harleyford Golf Club

Amateur Highlights: Multiple County victories, being crowned the Midlands U16s Champion, and an appearance in the Quarter Finals of the English Amateur Championships.

Taylor started playing golf when he was 5 years old. No one else in his family played golf at the time, but his dad had started playing and couldn’t find a baby-sitter so Taylor had to go to the range with him. After picking up his first club, he was hooked and has never looked back.

Taylor was part of the U12, U14, U16, U18 teams for the Berkshire Buckingham & Oxfordshire county, playing for the first team for 3 years. However, his proudest moment as a junior was when he was selected to represent England at U16 level. He retained this National recognition as a member of the U18 regional squad.

Relinquishing his amateur status in 2013, Taylor made an electric start to his professional career, competing on the UK Clutch Pro Tour where he managed to pick up his first professional win in his rookie season. Fittingly, this came at his local course, Harleyford Golf Club in Marlow, where his 14 under par total across the 3 rounds was good enough to secure a 2 stroke win.

Still living and practicing locally, Taylor maintains his lifelong ties to Buckinghamshire. His competitive record at Harleyford Golf Club is excellent, and he will undoubtedly be one of the favourites for the local Clutch Tour events at both Oxford Golf Club and Castle Royal Golf Club toward the second half of the season.

Beyond the South of England, this year’s Clutch Pro Tour takes on a much more international feel, with tournaments in the Middle East and, for the first time, North Africa. Taylor will be hoping to  compete in the UAE, Oman, and Morocco.
